This is my own design for a replacement of the Rode PSA-1 clamp. Highly recommend a strong filament like PC or ABS-GF.

This is my own design for a replacement of the Rode PSA-1 clamp. I highly recommend printing this with strong filament. I used Inland Tough PC filament for the clamp itself.

The bolt itself doesn't need any special filament as long as it isn't over tightened. Inland PLA Tough was the filament I used for my bolt & it only ever broke at the knob, which was caused by over-tightening.

Please do not underestimate how strong this part needs to be.

Print settings:

Clamp:

  • Walls: 5-7
  • Cubic infill 35%-50%

Bolt:

  • Walls: 4-6 (this is important for the grip)
  • Cubic infill 40%-50% (Just make sure the bolt part itself is a solid piece)
  • Bottom/Top Surface pattern: Concentric
  • Internal solid infill pattern: Concentric

Bolt pad:

  • Walls: 3
  • Cubic infill 25%-35%
  • Bottom/Top surface pattern: Concentric
  • Internal solid infill pattern: Concentric

Print the part laying flat on its side. Depending on your part cooling capability, you may need to add support to the rounded corners coming off the build surface.
