I really liked the original model as it was not too small and would scale down pretty well to fit mi printer. However I like to skip the bottom and top layers on this type of prints, so the hex cut outs were just taking up space.

so I've:

  • Modeled a version without no hexagonal cut out,
  • Moved the big cut out sho that when you set both parts they can be aligned,
  • Added a tiny hole so that the reel can grasp the filament if you manually wind it,
  • Made an additional smaller version to fit on my 'ender 2 pro' of 16x16cm.

Like the original, print two, and if you want supper glue it. Personally, I'm using velcro cable ties to hold it together and still being able to open and close it.

If you want to show the infill like I did, just set the bottom and top layers to 0.

Once I'm done printing a final version I might upload some pics.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Modeled from scratch a version without no hexagonal cut out so that you can showcase your infill and print it slightly faster.

Moved the big cut out sho that when you set both parts they can be aligned.

Added a tiny hole sot that the reel can grasp the filament if you manually wind it.

Made an additional smaller version to fit on my 'ender 2 pro' of 16x16cm.
