Small adjustments to @Chris_303543 very badass design. To complete this project, you will still need to download and print the non-included components. Please get the V3 components. I've also added my own knurled “screw fasteners”. I prefer nylocks as they are not likely to loosen.

Print in ASA, 15% honeycomb, +4 wall, 0.20mm layers. Use a brim for adhesion if necessary. Print with different colors for badass contrast. Complement a stranger and give them a high-five for all around good vibes.

BOM:

Stuff you will use from above:

  • 5x M4 Nylock nuts
  • 3x M4 Standard nut
  • 2x M4x8mm Screws
  • 3x M4x30mm Screws
  • 3x M4x35mm Screws
  • 2x 1/4in x 13/32in Compression Springs
  • 2x M4 Washers

Assembly:

Print Parts! Use the V3 set from Chris' project. Replace the duplicates with my redux components. Use his instructions.

Helmet used: FMA Airsoft Helmet

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I've changed the following components:

  • The retainer is made thicker to allow more meat and tolerance adjusted for nylock nuts
  • The cap & capshort is optimized for M4 screws heads that I have in possession. The internal pocket for a M4 nut is also adjusted for tolerance.
  • The lock is made 1mm thicker to decrease chances of snapping during assembly
  • The carrier has had two hole bevels removed as they tend to bind my springs, the geared wheel is also made longer for more positive engagement
  • The rail has had the geared wheel made longer for positive engagement
  • The helmet mount has had the nut pockets adjusted in tolerance for ASA. The geared wheel is also made longer for positive engagement
  • I wasn't sure how the original's spring mechanism was to be assembled, so I made my best guess and optimized it's assembly to the components I've had on hand.
