This is a small pill box/magazine with seven compartments for a week. It is sized for capsule-type pills (as seen in the photo). Since it is printed in vase mode, it is a quite quick print.

The box actually has 8 sectors, but one is always open, so only 7 are usable. The center however can be used as a bonus compartment, but you need to take off the cap.

I used PLA, and sliding doesn't feel that smooth. A hint of lubrication or using another material might improve that.

Printing:

  • I used PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height
  • vase mode, 3 bottom layers
  • print settings → advanced → extrusion width: 0.6mm
  • print settings → advanced → slice gap closing radius: 0.01mm (or less)
  • I also like bottom fill pattern: archimedean chords
  • for quicker printing: filament settings → cooling → slow down if  print time is below: 4 seconds (depends on your printer's cooling)

For advanced users: If you want to print several of these in one go, place multiple of these, space them apart so that the do not overlap in y axis direction, i.e. the front edge should begin where the previous one ends in y direction, but place the alternating left and right. They are printed in the order shown in the list to the right; make sure they are placed on the bed from front to back in that order. Then print settings → output options → complete individual objects, and also set extruder clearance height to 100mm. See this model for an example. I use the same method to print cap and box in one go.
