This was an experiment to try printing two different colors on my stock Prusa MK3S+. It helps keep my coffee warm, and I use it everyday, so I figured I would share it. I used black and clear PETG, so it would stand up to temperatures from a hot beverage and be hand washable. It has a lip around the circumference that keeps it place on top of my mug.

The cover letters are printed first in one color, upside-down, 2-layers thick, then the purge line is removed after the print is complete. The only change to the G-code was to keep the bed heated after the print.

Then the lettering color filament (black PETG) can be unloaded and background (clear PETG) loaded. After purging the lettering color filament sufficiently, the 2nd print can begin. The background color  is printed around and on top of the letters. No custom G-code changes are needed, as the bed mesh leveling calibration can run normally, and the nozzle won't hit the letters already on the platform. The z-hop (lift Z) needs to be increased to 0.5mm so the nozzle doesn't hit the letters during the 2nd print. Of course the 2nd print needs to be aligned with the letters, so they fit perfectly, and that alignment is included in the .3mf and G-code files. Other than that, it was pretty easy to do this.

Enjoy!
