Insert for Great Western Trail Argentina made with the extremely awesome Boardgame Insert Toolkit (I provided my .scad file if you'd like to modify things further).
I generally go for the “dump it all into one container” philosophy over “a place for everything and everything in its place” so each player's bits (cards, buildings, tokens) are all in one box with no compartments.
I created two separate trays for coins and exchange tokens so I can have one on each side of the table. I designed two different versions; one has just a single compartment with the coins and tokens mixed together and the other has a large compartment for the coins and a narrow one for the tokens. Not sure which one I like better.
I don't play GWT:A solo so I store the solo components outside the game box, but there is plenty of room to keep them in the main box. You can probably fit the solo cards in with the cattle cards, or use the BIT .scad file to design your own separate box for them.
All .stl files were generated with solid lids and solid floors; I set the slicer to print no horizontal top or bottom layers and 15% honeycomb infill to get the mesh shown in the pictures (it saves time, filament, and weight).
