[New version of the bookmark piece, see update below]

This bookmark comes in the shape of a cute little cat peeking over the book's top side.

It is a remix of YahooJAPAN's cat: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:182091.

The assembly is relatively easy. Just insert the bookmark piece into the slot on the bottom side of the cat's head. It should sit firmly enough and probably even requires (carefully) using pliers to make it work, so there is probably no glue needed (not using glue has the advantage that the bookmark piece can be removed again, in case that it breaks). If the bookmark piece does not fit the slot at all, scale it down a little and reprint it. Choosing a low layer height for the bookmark piece should make it more durable, as there are more layers with different infill orientations and more layers that would have to break in order to break the part.

The second picture is supposed to demonstrate that it also looks great towards the beginning or the ending of a (bound) book. There, the cat peeks over the edge (of the binding).

I used Prusament Galaxy Black PLA.

Update 2022-12-25: The cut edges on the bookmark piece were asymmetrical. That is now fixed.

Update 2023-01-21: As other users pointed out, the first version of the bookmark piece is quite weak and prone to bending or breaking where the insert bit ends. So, I thickened the rest of the bookmark piece to the thickness of the insert piece. This has also already been done by other users. AcrylicPlasma's Thicker Bookmark Piece was the first remix. To honor their effort to improve my model and to not just steal this improvement, I added this model as a remix source. To add some novelty to my thickened bookmark piece, I made 2D paw prints  - the curious cat must have gotten up the book somehow ;) The paw prints are based on an Image by Clker-Free-Vector-Images from Pixabay. Pay attention to the paw prints outlines when slicing. Also, the thin lines might not be printable with nozzles bigger than 0.4mm. The cat part remains the same. So if a bookmark you already printed breaks, you can repair it by just inserting the new bookmark piece, given that the broken one can be removed.
