Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum canister release button

We have loved our Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum for years. It performs well and has been a workhorse. However, recently the canister release button cracked in half rendering it unusable. Without this button the dirt collection canister will not remain mounted to the “cyclone” vacuum engine. I was unwilling to dish out $100 for an entire canister assembly replacement.

So here I offer a replacement button for your 3d printing pleasure. Please note a couple of printing and replacement points:

• The button is small and uneven. I suggest printing it upside down and using your slicer's support capabilities.
• You need a small spring for the button to work. If you are lucky and have the original button's spring then use that. Otherwise, you may have success extracting one from a ballpoint pen or other object.
• The button's fit into the vacuum is tight:
  • Be careful on how you slide it into place. If you are not careful you may break the retaining pins thus have to reprint.
  • If you are not careful the button's retaining pins may gouge a channel into the plastic of the assembly you are installing it into. That could enable the button to fall out.

The button works for me but is far from perfect. Please feel free to refine the model. If you like it and it works for you, please let me know. :)
