Filament Box (FilaBox)

The filament box consists of a top plate (50x50 cm) and four side plates (25x50 cm), made of Plexiglas or foam board, which are available at hardware stores. The plates are connected with 3D-printable brackets, which are both glued and fastened with M3 screws. An opening for five Festo Fitting QSM-M5 provides the filament feed. Inside, there is an optional holder for silica gel packs for moisture control, and an optional frame around the chamber offers additional space for silica storage.

• M3x12 screws
• Matching nuts

Instructions:

Preparation of materials:
Cut the Plexiglas or foam boards to the required sizes (see materials list). The boards can be purchased pre-cut at hardware stores like Bauhaus.

Building the frame:
Connect the four 25x50 cm boards using the printed corners to form the sidewalls. Attach the 50x50 cm board as the lid. Use plastic adhesive and screws to ensure a stable connection.

Mounts for the pressure chamber:
Cut/saw an opening into your pressure chamber.

Optional silica holder:
Install the holder for the silica packs inside the box. This should be mounted on one side to remain easily accessible and not obstruct airflow.

Surrounding the pressure chamber:
The surround is screwed onto the pressure chamber and can also store silica. Ensure the surround fits tightly to prevent air leakage. Additionally, TPU 1.75 mm can be inserted into the surround to improve the seal further.

Now you have a functional filament box with an integrated desiccant holder and proper routing and fittings for a pressure chamber. The sealing ensures that the filaments stay dry and ready for use.

Anleitung:

Vorbereitung des Materials:
Schneide die Plexiglas- oder Hartschaumplatten auf die erforderlichen Größen (siehe Materialliste). Die Platten können fertig geschnitten in Baumärkten wie Bauhaus gekauft werden.

Bau des Rahmens:
Verbinde die vier 25x50 cm Platten mit den ausgedruckten Ecken, um die Seitenwände zu formen. Befestige die 50x50 cm Platte als Deckel. Verwende Kunststoffkleber und Schrauben, um eine stabile Verbindung zu gewährleisten.

Halterungen für die Druckkammer:
Schneide / Säge eine Öffnung in deine Druckkammer hinein.

Optionale Silikat-Halterung:
Installiere die Halterung für die Silikatpäckchen im Inneren der Box. Diese sollte an einer Seite angebracht werden, um leicht zugänglich zu sein und den Luftstrom nicht zu behindern.

Umrandung für die Druckkammer:
Die Umrandung wird an die Druckkammer geschraubt und kann ebenfalls Silikat aufnehmen. Stelle sicher, dass die Umrandung fest sitzt und keine Luft entweichen kann. Zusätzlich kann TPU 1.75 mm in die Umrandung eingelassen werden, um die Abdichtung noch weiter zu verbessern.

Du hast nun eine funktionale Filamentbox mit integrierter Trockenmittelhalterung und passender Durchführung sowie Anschlüssen für eine Druckkammer. Die Abdichtung sorgt dafür, dass die Filamente trocken bleiben und einsatzbereit sind.
