I wonder if it's compatible with qidi plus 4 without many changes. Looks good.

Just wanted to say THANKS! Awesome mod for the Q1 Pro, and I can finally see what I'm printing.

Also, in case anyone wants to use a 5v LED strip (instead of 24v), you can use this connector on the main board (5v JST PH2.0 connector). Working great so far.

Excellent light, now i see )) Thanks 🙏

It totally works but I had to remove the two corners as they made the middle piece too long. But it works just as well without the corners. Might be because I have lid riser or that this is modeled for older revision of the q1 pro, not really sure?

I installed COB light strip and 1m draws about 11w of power.

Printed great (in Sunlu Black PETG for now since I don’t do any heated chamber printing; I’ll see how it fares. ). Used the following led strip from Amazon (QooWare COB Led Strip Lights, 32.8ft 6500K Cool White LED Strip Lighting, DC24V 5120LEDS CRI 90+ 8mm Flexible Uniform Led Lights for Bedroom, TV, Under Cabinet Lights(No Adapter or Controller) https://a.co/d/0wndXLd) and I think it’s great. Super bright good value and plenty of extra length when and if I need to redo it. I did somehow crimp A few LEDs in the corner trying to get them landless . They work when you touch it so I’ll fiddle around but you can’t tell.

Install was easy; just removed the stock wires and fed my new leads right back there.

It doesn’t seem to turn OFF though using the “caselight” toggle switch in the software; anyone else have this issue?! Maybe there is some feedback loop I’m missing? Anyway I leave it on anyway for time lapse so just a curiosity. Thanks for the model!

PS: my LED strip was way too hot, so in printer.cfg i enabled PWM and lowered maximum output value from 1 to 0.8. This reduced the brightness a bit and significantly reduced the LED heating.

Probably the best possible LED upgrade you can make on this printer. Takes a little bit more work than other solutions, but it's relatively simple to do. No need to worry about adhesives and angling correctly. One note though is that one of the bends is slightly more loose than the other, making the rail fall out, but once the strips were in, they didn't move at all.

Printed with Polymaker's Orange and Teal PolyLite ABS.
