This model is intended to create an easy, universal solution for carrying your phone while hiking or camping during the night.
The design requires *NO SUPPORTS! Making it quick and easy to print and assemble.
It is most practical while wearing a backpack with a strap in the front, allowing for quick and easy access. Due to the threaded design, the phone is safely secured to the clip and backpack.
Uses:
The most practical use is for the clip to be attached to the strap of your backpack, then you can leave the clip on and simply snap the phone holder on and off your bag. It allows for easy access to your phone while to hiking to your camping destination, and when dark, can provide as a great flashlight holder.
The clip could also be attached to a thin adjustable head band (but if you already have one you might as well just use the head lamp)
*However:
My favorite use for this is when I go to sleep. While in my tent, I can attach my phone to my backpack, and turn on the built in flash light. I can then read a few pages and fall right asleep.
Assembly and Print Instructions:
I printed at a 0.2 mm layer height with no supports, basically and average print settings will be more than fine.
Assembly is straight forward, there are four pieces, the screw goes through the bottom of the big arm and then screws in to the smaller arm, which can then be adjusted to the size of your phone. The clip is straight forward as well, secure it to your bag, and then snap it the large arm of the holder.
The author remixed this model.
I only used three parts of his original model to act as a phone holder. I made some slight dimensional changes, as well as an extra 0.1 mm of space on the threads, to allow for easier movement of the screw
