Hi, I designed an Ender 3 compatible setup for direct drive on a Bambu Lab style hotend. It has very light weight mounting plate that uses existing bolt for X-axis roller and very capable fang styled duct for excellent cooling performance.

Main features:

• Bambu Lab clone compatible hotend with V6 nozzle (preffered CHT V6 style).
• Sherpa mini extruder mount pattern compatible with:
  • ProtoXtruder - used by me (https://github.com/nhchiu/VoronMods/tree/main/Extruders/ProtoXtruder)
  • Sherpa mini (https://github.com/Annex-Engineering/Sherpa_Mini-Extruder)
  • Sailfin (https://github.com/CroXY3D/Sailfin-Extruder)
• Excellent part cooling with a 5015 blower fan
  • Adjustable height, for fine-tuning the air flow
  • I'm using 60% fan speed for PLA, 30% - PET-G and 15% ASA
• Optional hotend cooling via 4020 blower fan (can be used with the original fan mounted on the hotend radiator)
• Klicky probe for bed leveling
  • Probe does not have a dock, I'm manually installing it before bed leveling (the leveling is not required to be done often)

• Vinyl cutter holder for making custom stickers

The fang cooling was designed entirely by me, it had multiple revisions throughout a year and now have very good cooling performance. The air is being pushed directly below the nozzle and the height can be adjusted to support different nozzles. This assembly uses minimal external parts and was designed to be as light as possible while having good filament and air flow.

Parts used:

• 5015 blower fan for part cooling
• Optional 4020 blower fan
• 4pcs M3 heat inserts
  • 2- hotend mount
  • 2- extruder mount (sherpa mini pattern)
• Couple of M3 screws or zip tie's for mounting fans

Configuration details:

• My ProtoXtruder has 566 steps/mm set
• NOZZLE_TO_PROBE_OFFSET { 4.33, 23.55, -5 }
