This is a completely redesigned version of an USB adapter I found. This version uses new PD compatible modules which make it possible to charge your phone but also your notebook computer (tested with Lenovo Thinkpad X1). In my tests the module could easily supply 40W of power. A single 4Ah battery should be enough for about 5 full charges of a typical smart phone, this is especially useful if you don't have access to mains power for prolonged times (camping trips, etc.).
You need the following parts:
The PCB holder part should probably be printed in PETG because the module gets quite warm at higher power levels.
I fixed the switch to the wall using some filament I melted with my soldering iron.
There is a small part where the case is only 0.2mm thick in order for the status LEDs to shine through.
I didn't crimp the spade connectors but soldered them instead in order to retain the round shape of the connector. If you can't insert them into their holes heat them gently with a soldering iron.
Make sure to check the battery level. The module does not have an undervoltage lockout function.
The author remixed this model.
The original model was too bulky and only had USB-A ports.
