For making XXL uniform burger patties.
What changed:
- I have added a bit of a bevel that ease the press process as well as some aesthetic improvements to reduce filament consumption.
- The handler is 90 mm + long, enough to fit a chubby hand in it.
Print recommendations:
- Print with > 1.6mm wall width:
- This is about 4 perimeters if using 0.4 nozzle or
- This is about 3 perimeters if using 0.6 nozzle (I used this)
- Use ~50%infill
- No supports needed, at least not when using an Ender3 v2.
- It works great when printed over a glass bed but it's tricky to get it detached (wait until bed is fully cold).
- PLA seems to work better than PETG (I've seen makes that broke on first use).
As for the patty:
- It works great with a Patty from 160 (0.35 pounds).
- Less than that, and the meat will be too thin.
- It can take up to 226 gr (0.5 pounds) without issues.
- The thicker the patty, the more it will take to cook evenly.
- I would recommend using ~180 gr (0.4 pounds). It has the perfect height to width ratio for perfect cooking.
- Add some oil to the flattening surface to avoid the meat to stick to it.
- Wash with soapy water. Even in PLA, it can withstand hot water for a brief period of time without deforming when cleaning it.
Enjoy!
