I made this project with the objective of making a functional attendance and lunch count system that my students would be able to customize.
My lesson idea:
My students will add text to the raised area of the blank plaques using tinkercad, and we will print them in a color of their choice.
Printing:
I made all of the different colored areas different heights on the plaque so the print can be paused for color swapping. I used a Bambu with an AMS for my test prints, but pausing and swapping filament at 5.2mm and 10.2mm will give roughly the same effect.
Assembly:
The plaques have holes for 6x3mm magnets to be glued in. I originally printed the pegs without magnets, but they slide very easily. After testing with my class, I might reprint the second peg option which includes holes for the same magnets.
Revision 1:
Peg base thickened for more resistance.
Revision 2:
Added an alternate version which uses an insert. This should save filament the next time I print a class set. Each trimester, the students will be given a blank insert instead of the entire tracker strip to customize. Check out the cover photo to see revision 2 in action!
Also added a bottom section to give it a finished look.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
