I needed a dupont wire organizer with proper wall mounts. I also need the wires easily taken off the wall and sometimes I need to take them with me. None of the models I found met the requirements so I designed my own.
This design has the mount for Skadis board but it is easy to modify the mounting piece to peg board/wall mount or pretty much anything. For the Skadis board it uses the universal hooks. You can of course also use it without any mounts too.
Most pre-made dupont wires seem to vary in length. There are differences between manufacturers but also between different end types. Measure your wire between the plastic end caps and non-uniformly scale the lengthwise axis to that measurement. You don't want it too tight to prevent damage to wires so leave a millimeter or two for slack. There are models for short (around 10cm) and long (around 20cm) wires. The mounting parts are the same and should not be scaled. Unless you go crazy with the scaling there should not be any problems fitting the mounting part.
There is two different ways to hang these on the wall.
The parts are symmetrical so you can use any mount point. Note however that if you have male leads facing upwards and you slide the holder up when the mount/hook is at top position you risk bending the pins.
I would recommend printing in PETG as you need good layer adhesion to avoid snapping the thin combs holding the wires. There is slight overhang over the dovetails but I never had any problems printing them without supports.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
