I created this latch to stop my cats to from entering the bathroom cabinets.
Use the spreadsheet from the FreeCAD file to customize the dimensions to your specific needs. Input values into the gray cells. The yellow cells can be changed if the default values are not sufficient.
Inner Diameter is the inside diameter of the latch. I've had the best results with this value being +0.2mm larger than the measured handle diameter.
Center to Center Distance is the distance between the two circles. With the current design, the length does not have to be exact and is more forgiving during install.
Outside Diameter is defaulted to be 2mm larger that the inner diameter. Changing this value will auto calculate the thickness which is the difference between the inner and outer diameter.
The uploaded model has the following dimensions:
Inner Diameter: 10.2mm
Center to Center: 50mm
Width: 10mm
Thickness: 2mm
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
