I initially made this as an alternative head for Petoi's robot dog Bittle, but it is equally compatible with standard hobby servos. The head has a diameter of 6 cm, and the collar is designed to be positioned at a 30 degree angle.

This model has 3 parts:

- The collar has a 12 x 23 mm slot for a servo motor shaft to fit through, and gaps for wires at both sides of the servo.
Compatible with SG90 hobby servos and Petoi servos.

- The head has hollow eyes and space to fit an ultrasonic distance sensor in. The head can be screwed onto the collar with 2 servo motor screws, or glued.
Compatible with Ultrasonic Distance Sensors HC-SR04, HY-SRF05, and RUS-04.

- A detachable panel closes up the back of the head while keeping the sensor wires accessible.

Printing recommendations:

  • Layer height 0.15 looks pretty good
  • 3 walls for strength
  • Wall printing order inside to outside for the sake of overhangs.
  • 10% cubic infill or less: If you are going to mount it on the Bittle robot, you want it to be light, and position the robot's battery backwards as counterweight.
  • Retraction on
  • Combing on
  • Support overhang angle 60 degrees
  • 17% lines support for the head, everywhere. Set the support direction such that minimal support ends up in the eye sockets, because that is difficult to clean. A single wall of support is enough to print the eyes.
  • The back panel does not require support.
  • The collar only needs a little support for the ring
