Description

PDF

This jig will allow you to compare the relative strengths of neodymium magnets.
Press fit a single magnet into the hexagonal base and leave it.

In your slicer split to objects and arrange to put plunger separate to base on build plate.

To test an unknown magnet:
 - Press fit it into the base of the plunger, aligning like pole to the base so that they repel when plunger inserted into the base.
 - Observe height at which plunger floats for strength comparison to other known magnets.

Stronger magnets will float the plunger higher than weaker ones.

Including .step file in case anyone wanted to remix for additional magnet sizes.  Same base and base magnet could be used for multiple sized plunger ID for larger sized magnet testing as long as the plunger OD fits inside of the hexagon.
