Tripod holder for iPad or iPhone with or without a case

by default

bracket to hold an iPadMini in its case in landscape orientation with holes to take a nut, and a be screwed into a tripod.

but it's a customizer

by adjusting the parameters, you can do almost any phone, in almost any case, landscape or portrait.

If your tripod has a removable wedge, you can print the wedge as part of the holder, so yu can save your tripod's wedge for something else.

Inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3050360 but this is original work by me.

Measure your phone or pad, measure your tripod wedge and enter the values un the customizer.

OpenSCAD files are just text files, and OpenSCAD is free and open source. You can get finer control than the customizer can give you by dowloading the .scad file and editing it directly.

For the 'wedge' version, you'll need to enable supports touching the build plate.

These holders are very nice for VoiceOver calls.

I liked the design so much I printed a version for a full sized iPad without a case. In the slicer, I rotated by 45° to make it fit my print bed.

For a Pro iPad on a small printer, I'd split this into 3 pieces, a bottom base, as big as will fit, and a left and right top piece. I'd cut 2mm alignment holes vertically, and glue it all together with cyanoacrylate with filament in the alignment holes.

• min thickness of iPad set to 4, to support devices not in cases
• better header comments on modules
• Fixed "window "cutout for thin devices
• From 12.8mm to 13mm for tripod retaining nut. It now goes in easily but needs glue to secure it.
• Tripod screw hole increased so it is large enough for the tripod's thread.
• More reinforcement for tripod screw, retaining nut for thin devices.

No case 11" iPad (like iPad Air)
