This fixed-blade Ka-Bar knife is meant for use as a martial arts training prop or other non-real combat prop. The cutting edge has been designed with a minimal flat edge to maintain some realism without safety concern. The point is pointy enough to hurt, but if printed in TPU or other flexible filament should be safe enough for most uses.
The 3mf file is ready to print with Bambu P1P.
Blade Instructions:
Print in TPU or other flexible filament. I used Overture HS TPU @95A.
Print edge-up with supports. The tang, back and base of the blade should be printed @100% infill for rigidity. Alternatively, you could print the tang, base and back in a more rigid filament and save a bit on filament. The blade edge should be printed with significantly lower infill. I used 15%. This keeps it soft and lighter.
All other parts can be printed in whatever you like, but I recommend 50% infill for both sides of the handle, in order to balance out the weight once assembled. I used a 10% wood PLA I had on hand for a nice leather/wood look, initially. Then I switched to a Burnt Titanium PLA when I ran out of the wood.
