I made this on a whim because I wanted to.

It's a really easy print, only needing a little support on the “arms” and not on the strings, and can hold a Kilogram of filament.

It is meant to be printed at a .2 layer height. The middle string is thicker because that is where the actual load is being supported. I have filleted the edges of each string to:

  • Eliminate the “weak links” where the strings attach to the base and top.
  • Allow for easier printing.
  • Allow a higher load capacity.

I have included the Prusaslicer settings I used to print this. You do need to activate supports and change the z distance to .4mm.

 

This model is without a tensioner, as I currently don't know how I would design that.

 

You cannot sell this.
