Moved into a new rental with a garage workshop table and shelves, which I'm using for printing. Sadly the shelves have seen better days, and trying to line my filament up like books, lead to some kamikaze polymers.
To combat that I came up with this credit card sized spool stopper.
Using OpenSCAD I tinkered until it would fit my narrowest and my widest spools, then parametric-ed the heck out of it.
Due to build plate size, I'm using a few three-spool cards for my filament library, but the single card is great for setting a spool down quickly, or to “display” a spool that deserves it.
