I have a couple 24-bay server cases that I use as DAS boxes for my file server. In them, I use a surplus Dell SAS expander with 3x SFF-8088 external ports and 6x SFF-8087 internal ports.
This ATX I/O shield allows you to expose those ports through the I/O area of the ATX case. Note that the SAS expander is wider than a standard motherboard (when looking at the back of the case from the outside, it is wider on the left). Your case will need to have sufficient clearance on that side for the expander to fit all the ports through the I/O window.
You will also need 5 standoffs of your choice to support the expander PCB and raise it to the correct height. If I measured and did the math right, it should be the same size standoff as whatever your case uses for ATX motherboards, but you may need to tweak that.
My prints were a tiny bit loose in the window, so I glued them in place using a few dabs of Loctite Extreme; you may find printing at like 101% will make for a nice snap fit and shouldn't adjust the alignment of the cutouts enough to matter, but I haven't tested this myself.
The author remixed this model.
