Chess Board Hidden Puzzle (45mm cell size)

This chessboard is intended for Chess sets that fits a cell size og 45mm.

History

I have long wanted a nice printable chess board with the possibility of adding even more cells or larger cells if this would be needed. I should be printable normal size printers without MMU, AMS etc. It should also pack down fairly small and be simple and elegant in style. It must be able to be lifted from one table to another without breaking apart.

This board Fulfill all the above design requirements and are actively developed. It can be used to create other types of checker board based games like hnefatavl and the like, this requires redesign of frame pieces. The board can be lifted since it will tension when bended by gravity.

The STEP versions are included if you need to alter something to be able to print or if you need to scale. Please still respect license.

Parts Needed

White:

• 25x A
• 6x   B
• 1x    C

Black:

• 24x A
• 8x   B

Single Extruder Version  (a total of 4 pieces)

• 4x Board Blank

Border Color (a total of 4 pieces)

• 2x Board brand
• 2x Board link
• Alternatively you use the blank board piece instead

When you import the Board Link or Board Brand, right click the model and select Split → to parts. Then it is possible to color the letters a different color with multicolor unit.

Settings

• Material: PLA Mat PolyTerra or Bambulab.
• Layer Height: 0.15-0.2mm
• Perimeters: 4
• Infill: 15% or more

Note: Tune the printer to a good top surface. With patience and the right settings, you’ll achieve beautiful results. Don't rush, experiment, and start with a test piece to ensure success.
