This allows you to easily wheel your espresso machine forward to gain easier access to the bean hopper and the water reservoir. This is particularly handy if like me, you have limited clearance to the cupboards above the machine or if you struggle with the weight of the machine and don't want to spill water all over the place. Simply lift the front legs off the counter-top slightly and the wheels on the back will allow you to slide it forward easily.
You'll need:
Four 3x6x2.5mm ball bearings. Here's a link to a pack of ten that I used:
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07CLJCPWK
Two M3 x 20mm screws
Two M3 nuts
Four washers to fit the M3 screw that are more than 6mm diameter (not used - explained below)
Start by pressing the bearings onto each side of the two wheels. Place them each side of the wheel with the washers on the outside of them. Push the screw through the centre and tighten the nut until the bearings are flush with the outside of the wheels. Unscrew and discard the washers.
Empty the water and beans from the espresso machine. Remove the drip tray, water container, and bean hopper.
Lay the espresso machine on it's back.
Remove the four legs and the plastic runners along each side of the base of the machine by removing the THREE screws on each side. Put the middle screw back in the middle on each side.
Fit the wheel bases and front extended legs with the remaining screws you removed.
Align the wheels and screw them in place with the M3 screws and nuts.
Lift the machine back onto the new wheels and legs and you're good to go.
