I designed a tripod because I had some carbon tubes left from another project.
I used carbon tubes with an outer diameter of 26mm and an inner diameter of 22mm.
But these are not easy to get, so I designed models for two different carbon tubes.
One for carbon tubes with an outer diameter of 26mm and an inner diameter of 22mm.
And one for carbon tubes with an outer diameter of 25mm and an inner diameter of 23mm.
The carbon tubes have a length of 320mm, but the length can vary on your personal choice.
The printed parts are printed from PETG and PCTG, but these can also be printed from other materials, I would just not use PLA!
I also used M5 threaded inserts for the screws and 3/8 to 1/4 inch thread adapters for cameras to make the threads more durable.
For the ball head I used the model "Tripod Ball Head" from zx82.
However, other ball heads can also be used.
1x 3/8 to 1/4 inch thread adapter
3x M5x35 screw
3x 320mm carbon tube with a diameter of 25mm or 26mm => Link to 25mm Carbon Tubes
3x Foot 25mm or 26mm
3x Foot ring (optional) 25mm or 26mm
3x Joint 25mm or 26mm
1x Tripod center
3x Screw handle
3x Screw handle plug
1. Print the required parts.
2. The foot rings do not have to be printed if you do not want them, they are purely for aesthetic purposes.
3. Cut the carbon tubes to the required length.
!!! Attention: Carbon dust is extremely toxic, please wear protective equipment (respiratory protection and gloves) when cutting!!!
4. Glue the feet and the joints into the carbon tubes with epoxy glue.
5. Glue the screws into the screw handles and close them with the plugs, also using epoxy glue.
6. Insert the 3 M5 threaded inserts into the holes provided.
7. Screw the 3/8 inch to 1/4 inch thread adapter into the center of the tripod.
9. Assemble the joints with the tripod center and screw them together with the M5 screws.
10. Mount a ball head.
