Design is inspired by the one created by Robs (@Minecraft), but this one was made completely from the ground up. Link to that print: https://www.printables.com/model/123191-lenovo-legion-5-gen-6-laptop-stand-support-mount
I liked the design Robs made, but they did not fit my Lenovo LOQ laptop. So I took to FreeCAD and came up with this design! I really like the look and feel of these risers Robs made. My goal was to create something that is aesthetically pleasing, ergonomical, stable on flat surfaces, and didn't hinder the cooling or impede the existing exhaust/intake areas of the laptop. And I think I hit all of those points!
Now, I'm not completely satisfied with the result. I want it to hug the body a bit better so it isn't as loose when picked up. But I think this is good enough to share in its current state. I guess I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
Also, I want to note that this was designed to work with the Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 laptop, which I believe is 1st Gen LOQ. If you want to design this to work with 2nd Gen, go for it! If you want the original CAD file, dm me and I can provide it directly to better assist. But this should work with all other LOQ 1st Gen style laptops.
Here are my print settings:
If I recall correctly, it took about 6 hours for it to print with those settings. But it feels solid, the laptop is stable and is cooling as expected, and the keyboard (to me) is at the perfect height. That is why I went with the ovular round shape. To give it a gentle incline and make sure it is stable on any surface.
Hope you enjoy this print! I might have a v2 out in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
