You have Unifi gear. You have mechanical watches. You are too lazy to manually wind your watch. You have an electric screw driver* lying around somewhere.

Bingo! I've got a watch winder for you.

Bring new life to the white rubber band that secures the power cables that come with some Unifi gear. Print this and supercharge* your watch winding!

* Super Disclaimer *:

  • Usual disclaimer, yada yada… use at your own risk, may damage your watch if not used carefully, yada yada… YMMV, you've been warned, yes?
  • I said electric screw driver, not a really fast electric drill or a high speed Dremel; so we are talking about torquey LOW rpms (the B&D I use does 180rpm).
  • Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical watches are delicate as you already know, do not floor the throttle (!) and over-wind your watches.

My own experience tells me to engage/wind my watch(es) and disengage every 5-15 seconds to determine how much has been wound. It's super awesome to be able to wind up (~50%-ish) an electro-mechanical watch from dead in like 2 mins!

As you find different rubber bands in stuff you buy, resize the drum using your favorite CAD software and viola! You have another watch winder yet again!

Have fun, I hope this has been useful to you. Peace, out!
