I love almost everything about my T2 and T3 headstraps (these are the Meta Quest 2/Quest 3 head straps with the hot swappable battery packs) from BinBokVR; the one thing that has bugged me about them though is NONE of the mechanisms that tighten and loosen the headstraps work the same. On one of them unless you hold the strap at the back as you put it on, it automatically cinches down on itself requiring you to loosen it multiple times before you can get the thing on your head.  Another one of my headstraps I own doesn't lock in place at all! After you tighten it down onto your head, if you move it around at all to get it to sit more comfortably or to get your eyes into the lenses sweet spot it loosens up and you have to tighten it again.  Also as you play games and move around it slowly loosens up making you have to stop and tighten it every so often. Only one of the three of these headstraps I own works properly; meaning it stays tightened on your face when you tighten it down and doesn't cinch down on itself if you hold it by any part other than the back of the headstrap.  I got annoyed enough with all this that I disassembled all 3 of my headstraps to find out how the adjustment mechanism worked and if there was anything I could do to fix the two defective ones.  To make a long story short I found out the problems I was experiencing was due to a defective gear which wasn't properly engaging with some corresponding teeth in the strap body.  I then set out to design my own repacement part that would be more robust than the factory part and eliminate this problem and that gear is now here for you to download, print and enjoy.

Just FYI, I printed this on a Bambu Lab P1S printer using the Bambu Studio Slicer. Filament was Bambu Lab Black PLA and I used mostly default settings. The ones I changed are listed below.

Print Settings:

Layer Height: 0.12

Wall Loops: 4

Sparse Infill Density: 50

No support is needed and no post processing is required. Just remove it from your print bed and pop it into your head strap.

If you need help disassembling your BinBok T2 or T3 head strap to install this gear, check out my video on YouTube here -
