Mortarboard

Additional materials:

  • 4x M2x20 bolts
  • 1x M5 heatset inset
  • 1x M5 bolt for mount of decoration and tassel
  • Rope for the tassel
  • Any kind of decoration

Printing

  • Open the Freecad file and change the “circle_inner_diameter” in the Spreadsheet according to the head size of the candidate.
  • Change the “cap_size" according to the ego of the candidate (or the size of your print bed).
  • Export brim and cap separately (preferably in step format)
  • The included step and stl files should fit someone with average to small head size
  • Print the brim in flexible filament (e.g. TPU 95A)
  • Print the cap with normal filament (preferably PETG)
  • Screw in the M2 bolts into the holes in the brim, be careful not to screw too far
  • Cut away the head of the bolts
  • Insert the heat inset in the center hole
  • Press the cap with the holes into the ends of the bolts, it should be strong enough without glue
  • There is a cap test object, where you can test if everything fits
  • Decorate according to the candidates subject!
