This is an extension base for the Makita 7000/D50 palm router in the Makita plunge base.  The complete base is 200mm square, and locates accurately on the router.  There are 2 types of extension to the base plate:

  • a plain extension (25mm wide)
  • an extension with a dust extraction outlet, to fit the Cen-Tec series of adaptors.  This is particularly intended when cutting grooves or housings, as the dx outlet can be located over the groove, downstream of the cutter.

The base is threaded to accept Porter-Cable type guide bushes having a 1-3/16x20TPI thread.

The original was printed on a Flashforge Creator Pro 2, which can only print 230x150x150mm, thus the separate extensions.

The .step file is included.

There are 4 .stl files:

  1. base.stl is the main base.  Print bottom face down.
  2. thread insert.stl provides the thread to mount guide bushes.  Print top face down.  This part is then glued into the base with epoxy.
  3. Extension(1) is one of 2 25mm extensions.  They are attached to the edges of the base with 2 M3 screws into heat-set inserts in the base.
  4. dx extension.stl is the dust extract extension.  This is attached to the edges of the base with 2 M3 screws into heat-set inserts in the base, in place of one of the 25mm extensions.
