Annoyed by grit in your toothbrush bristles while living your best life in the great outdoors? Look no further than this simple, magnetic tooth brush cover.

This modern cover is your new must-have on the packing list, keeping your tooth brush clean no matter where you're headed. The design features a precise fitting, print-in-place hinge for effortless opening and closing, and a strong magnetic closure securely holds the cover closed, shielding your brush from unwanted dirt and grime. If you want to make a slight tweak, I've provided a .STEP file for you to customize and create your own unique cover to conquer even greater challenges.

Unlike other toothbrush covers I've come across, this design lets your toothbrush sit bristles-up on a counter instead of on its side, and eliminates the potential of a clip system weakening over time.

Two 6x2mm round magnets required.

Features:

  • Precise fitting print-in-place hinge
  • Strong magnetic closure
  • Clean, modern design
  • Vents to ensure complete drying (version without vents, too)
  • Hinges are located on the rear (instead of the bottom like most other covers) so toothbrush can be placed on a table or counter without covering the drying vents
  • Toothbrush can be propped up on the cover to dry
  • .STEP file for remixing and customization

Print instructions (IMPORTANT):

  • Add a print pause at 7mm, right before the two magnet holes (one in each half) get covered (layer 35 with 0.2mm layer height).
  • During the print, insert the two 6x2mm magnets during the print pause. Make sure to get the poles correct. I like to put a dot of Sharpie on the sides that stick together (the side that goes up).
  • Secure the magnets with a dot of glue (I used hot glue) to avoid them sticking to the nozzle.
  • Continue the print and enjoy your clean toothbrush!

If you want to add your name or a logo, feel free to use the .STEP file to do so. Check out the video below on a cool way to embed a different color on the first layer with a single extruder.

Please upload your make and enjoy!
