Mechanical parts are optimized to print of PLA, 0,2 mm layer height, on smooth PEI steel sheet could be printed without brim.

Blades were 3D printed in two layers 0,2 + 0,15 mm height and 5 perimeters, I used PLA as well.

Prepared model for 3 types of blades with two modification of edge each of them, both edge modifications can be used together in one pinwheel.

Final diameter of pinwheel is about 17 cm.

Blades could be 3D printed of different colors and used for pinwheel directly or used as template for cut out of paper.

Pinwheel holder fits on straw or bar with outer diameter of 7 mm (model not included, but not difficult to design a bar directly in slicer).

For even more colored pinwheel you could 3D print blades with different filaments in each layer.

Instruction for assembly of four color 2-blades pinwheel:

Stack all blades one by one in following way:

Put the rear bearing into center hole (from top to bottom)

Flip blades front side back

Slide a clip on rear bearing as much as possible, clip has chamfer on the top surface

Put the front bearing into front cover and afterwards put front bearing into one of the side hole of blade in following way

Continue to inserting front bearing into hole blades one by one left to right

At the end are all holes of blades on front bearing

Slide a clip on front bearing as much as possible, clip has chamfer on the top surface

Put axle into holder, if it fits loose, try again and turn axle by 90°

Put axle through bearings from rear to front, put a cap on

Finished pinwheel, enjoy!
