The problem I was trying to solve was that during reconstruction we forgot to place one switch and it was simply not feasible to add it later. The solution was in using a Shelly relay in combination with a smart switch. Since we use Schneider new Unica Basic/Studio I tried to incorporate a smart switch that would fit in the switch cover. As a matter of fact, IKEA Tradfri on/off switch (and Tradfri button) have exactly the dimensions I needed.

I have created a model of a “base plate” that connects with a Unica cover and can accomodate the abovementioned IKEA Tradfri switch. It can only be used in a single cover – will not fit multicovers.

All you need to do (apart from printing the model) is to use some double sided tape to:

  • fix the Tradfri switch metal plate (which magnetically holds the switch itself) to the model, and
  • fix the whole thing to a wall (or leave it on a table…).

Printing was super easy:

  • I used black PLA to fit the Unica cover,
  • 0.4 nozzle,
  • 0.2 line height,
  • 2-3 perimeters,
  • 15% infill,
  • no supports.

If there's anything I can help with, let me know. Thanks!
