It is not necessarily only for Voron, you can just use it to mount the Raspberry Pi 4 to any DIN rail.
Geekworm armor case
Purpose:
The armor case and other cooling solutions for the Raspberry Pi have their screws mounted from the bottom. This makes it hard to mount it in a good way with the original Voron parts. This is why I designed this.
BOM:
Assembly instructions:
Please use the attached pictures as a guide.
- You need to install the 4 heat set inserts into the bottom part.
- Mount the 2 DIN PCB clips as you can see them in the pictures.
- Mount the Raspberry Pi 4 together with the Armor Case using the 4 M2.5 machine screws. You need slightly longer ones than the ones that come with the case. I used 16mm long ones.
- Attach the top part to the bottom one with the M3 machine screws. Here you might be able to use longer ones than 8mm.
Notes:
- It is easily serviceable, if you need to remove the Raspberry Pi, just unscrew the 4 M3 screws, or remove the whole assembly from the DIN rail.
- I have tested it with the input shaper kit installed (this came with my LDO Voron kit) and I don't have any clearance issues, the assembly is not too tall this way.
- It is possible that it might work with other cooling solutions, like tower fans etc., but then you are likely to run into clearance issues.
Printing:
I used the Voron standard settings to 3d print them and they turned out fine.
It was tested with:
- 0.2mm layer height
- 0.4mm extrusion width
- ABS+ filament from SUNLU
