I broke my thumb and could not put any force on it for several weeks. This prosthetic clips onto the palm a typical isolation brace and provides a firm surface in the same position as your thumb, allowing you to grip again without using your thumb at all.
Print | Stand up on edge as shown. No supports needed. Print solid with several perimeters for best strength. PETG recommended, other materials would likely work as well.
Assemble | A piece of vinyl tubing 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD x 1.7" long will fight tightly over and provide some additional grip. Prosthetic should fit tight on the palm of your brace.
Use | Test first and use carefully. It's for light duty - like lifting a light drinking cup, holding a pen to write. Don't plan to do any weight lifting, cycling or drive your car depending on this little printed part. It's handy and functional but don't bet your life on it.
