[UPDATE 09.08.2019] Autodesk Fusion360 project link: https://a360.co/2NGpQWV

The EQ-3 mount is a very light aluminum tripod. For it is not very heavy there are major problems with its leg clamps. The plastic ist 1. very week 2.not UV proof. If you are doing a lot of daytime usage the plastic will break over time because of ultraviolet light.

We in our astronomy club "Astronomische Vereinigung Vorderpfalz e.V." in Ludwigshafen, (South-Western)Germany, Palatinate made our own replacement. On our german webpage http://avvp.de you can get further informations.

You additionally need a M8 knob like this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:700905 or this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1865629 .

Print Settings

Printer:

Anycubic i3 Mega (Model March/2018)

Rafts:

No

**Supports:**

No

Resolution:

0,2

**Infill:**

50%

Notes:

Printed with ASA (brand filamentum). ASA-Material shrinks, so with the following settings I had to resize with 102% (Cura). The printer has a housing and the print bed is insulated!

  • wall thinkness 1.2 (top / bottom too)
  • infill pattern: cubic (most stable)
  • print bed: 260 °
  • nozzle: 105 °
  • retract 8mm / 16mm/s
  • speed 40 / travel 80
  • NO (!) retract on layer change

When printing with PLA no further adjustment / resizing is needed.

Printed with CURA 3.2.1 and Octoprint.

How I Designed This

Designed with Fusion 360. I added the STL and F3D files.
