Hi there. Here is my topographic map of the Banks peninsula on the coast of the South Island of NZ, near Christchurch City. Formed by two massive volcanic explosions and eroded over millions of years, the peninsula is one of the most stunning areas in NZ in my opinion and makes for a great example of a relief map.

I printed mine at 2x terrain height with 4 tiles of 210mm width at a 0.12mm layer height, filament changes at layers 17, 25, 82 and 105 for the different colours, although a single colour will still look great. I have also included a single STL for the entire peninsula if you don't want to make it quite as large.  If you aren't printing in multi-colour, you can also print the tiles/model vertically using vase mode to speed up the print time a lot!

The model was made by merging various 1m DEM files of Banks Peninsula, Selwyn and Christchurch from the LINZ database. Using QGIS to merge and rasterize the various TIFF files, the raster calculater was then used to offset the coastline 30m lower in elevation before being simplified and converted to an STL.  Both 2x and 1.5x terrain elevations are available.

Hope you enjoy!
