10/14/2024: New version of the cam holder so flat cable with connector can pass better through.

Still two issues:

The alignment screw for the print sheet are too high… collide with the cam. And the heatbed cable cover… is also too high. (They can be shortened with a file or other screws, depends on the heat bed model you have)

To mount the cam differently (by tiliting it) is not possible either due the heatblock of the nextruder get in line of sight…. any ideas?

Fusion file is published as well

3DO offers a nozzle camera kit: Equipped with the IMX258 sensor, featuring 13 megapixels, Exmor RS technology and excellent low-light performance.

The model has been designed so that the new ventilation options of the MK4S can be fully utilized without restricting access to the nozzle when changing.

Accordingly, the camera module was attached to the back of the X-Carraige clip and holds the nozzle from behind.  A light shield was also constructed to prevent glare.

The electronics board of the image processor was placed in a separate housing, which can be attached to the cable from/to the print head.

It is recommended to print the parts from PC-CF or PA-CF due to its increased temperature resistance.

The parts in the pictures are made of PETG, prototyping.

the base of the PCB housing consists of two parts which are glued together with superglue. You can also print it as a non-separated object, I'm just not a fan of printing with supports :-D

aOk the pictures are made on a MK4…… but you see the point when the new fan shroud is installed…. no way to have a cam view from the side. And yes the nozzle picture is a bit blurry, should clean the lens :-D. The positioning of the cam module is made for the non glued and glued version. Means 3.45 cm of distance to the focus point on the nozzle.

  • Of course you will need a Raspi to run Mainsail and Crownsnest on it. Set up the Raspi as usual with your desired image and then:
