After purchasing a 2024 Ford Maverick XL, I was a bit disappointed to find that it wasn’t possible to add or modify the console to include the Ford wireless charging module without cutting a hole in the console, which I wasn't willing to do.

As an alternative, I considered installing an invisible wireless charging pad underneath the console, as demonstrated in this video, but the charging distance was too far for my phone to charge properly.

Instead, I decided to use the cabling I had already routed under the console from the fuse box, purchased a wireless charging pad (#ad), and designed a 3D-printed part to fit flush inside the console area.

It worked perfectly and now charges my phone.

Print Settings:

  • Resolution:  0.2mm or higher Layer Height (0.4mm Nozzle)
  • Filament: PETG/ABS/ASA recommended (PLA will work, heat could be an issue)
  • Supports: No

Cabling Run:

See below, I ran the cable up and over the console seen here:

Then I removed the panel here to finish running the cable underneath and plugging it into the USB charging port I added from the invisible wireless charging MOD I tried.
