Description
I use the Elgato Stream Deck 15 as a button dashboard on my NextLevel Wheel Stand 2.0 and have designed a racing rig mount and case for it.
The entire assembly consists of three parts:
I have designed the Stream Deck case carefully to allow printing it oriented with the front plate down without the need for support structures. If you use a dimensionally reliable printer, the Stream Deck should slide in with little resistance, sit securely, and flush in it.
Cable management in the form of slots for zip ties is also available, and it acts like a second safety net for the Stream Deck. However, as the case is tilted upwards and you only apply pressure against the Deck's front, it should never fall out by accident. This way, there is no need for screws or ugly front plates.
To mount the case onto the base plate, you will need two M5 insets (e.g., https://amzn.to/4dDLU0u — affiliate link).
The rig mount plate and the base plate feature a Hirth joint to adjust the yaw angle of the entire assembly. You need an M8 nylon lock nut (e.g., https://amzn.to/4dqLwD2 - affiliate link) and an M8x20 bolt to attach both. You can use, e.g., a knurled screw to have fast access to the yaw angle adjustment.
Moreover, you can use both parts (rig mount plate and base plate) for other rigs and accessories. Therefore, I will also provide you with the Fusion 360 file for the rig mount plate and STEP files for all the parts.
Additionally, 3MF and STL files and a complete print project for the MK4 are available. You can read my print settings from it.
