Purpose
Simple addon to the back of Thrustmaster P310 (and other similar rims*) that converts them to magnetic paddles.
Makes the feel of the paddles feel much more premium, and provides a nice solid point where the paddles aggressively “snap” between pressed and released (i.e. provides a strong tactile feedback)
*might also work with other thrustmaster wheel rims (untested):
Usage/Installation of Magnets
This design is for 8mm x 3mm Disc Magnets
Simply press fit between 1 and 3 magnets (Up to personal preference, depending on strength of your magnets) into the designated holes in the addon part. You will need to do this twice, one part for each side, meaning that you can use anywhere from 2-6 magnets.
The magnet slots are quite tight, and will require some force to get the magnets in, so i would reccomend using pliers, or a solid surface for this.
You can also optionally put a few drops of superglue in each of the slots to ensure that the magnets never come out.
(In contrast to that, there is also a small hole on the opposite side of where the magnets slide in, that will allow you to use a small screwdriver for example, to be able to push the magnets back out, such as if you wanted to remove a magnet to make the shifting weaker.)
Usage/Installation of the Actual Mod. ( ⚠ After magnets installed ⚠ )
Wipe down the surface on the back of wheel rim first, preferably with some alcohol.
Apply some high quality (3M) double sided tape to the large flat side of the part, and then carefully place it such that the magnet is just barely in contact with the metal shift paddles (look at pictures for reference).
Note - there will be a slight overhang/gap between shifter paddle and where the mod is taped down of around 1 to 3mm as shown in pictures, this is normal.
BEFORE USE!
I would highly reccomend that after you have used the double sided tape to secure the part to the back of the wheel rim, that you wait 15-30 minutes to just let the adhesive of the tape gain some strength before actually using the shifters.
One or two presses is fine to check that everything is aligned and feels good, but after that, let it sit.
