Hi there, Ive designed this case after a recent purchase of the AB-IOT-868 rf amplifier to use with a meshtastic node,
I wanted to do something that was fairly easy to assemble and using cheap parts easily available, this makes use of the heltec wsl3 which ive found to be a very cheap board option for meshtastic and the board itself works well on both receive and transmit as standard so it seemed like a good option to me,
having looked around a bit myself for a case to house the AB-IOT-868 i couldnt find anything at all, so ive put this together in the hope that it is helpful to others in the meshtastic community that are like i was struggling to get a 1w node up and running, ive spent 18 months messing around with the ebyte E22 modules and they have been a big let down all in all, this system is the best working 1w node i have tested so far in terms of real world rssi performance on both receive and transmit
printing for me was easy, i think ive ironed it out well enough that it should all fit together quite nicely
the front panel has been made for 0.96" OLED and user button and reset button, Power button, power LED, Heartbeat LED and Notification LED, there is also a fairly large compartment for battery on the front for easy access, add yourself a charge module and small buck boost converter for 5v if your using large cells and run the whole system from 5v supply from buck boost converter
feel free to contact me on meshtastic discord (NancyD) if you have the need
Happy printing!
