Based on the excellent work by Robin https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3952021

I used the basic concept by Robin to do a full redesign to fit on a standard 35mm DIN rail. There are several other DIN rail versions of this design available but none of them suited my needs.

Some of the improvements I made:

  • Very secure din rail mount using this design: https://www.printables.com/model/133493-din-rail-cable-clamp . I've tried several options but this one grips the rails the best and there is almost no play. I've used a 0.6mm nozzle with PLA+ and so far they seem to be quite durable.
  • The cover tape is pulled off very close to the pickup point which prevents jams and keeps the components more secure. The cover tape is then routed through the top slot so it can be pulled to advance the tape.
  • 10x25mm slanted space for standard labels
  • Central 3mm through hole for mounting on a M3 threaded rod for more stability. Although so far it has not been needed in my opinion.
  • Less wasted material by using less plastic where it is not needed.
  • Fully parametric fusion360 model where you can easily change the tape width and tape thickness.

Printed on Ender 3 with 0.6mm nozzle and 0.28mm layer height but it should work(even better) with the standard 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height.

If the tape doesn't fit you can try changing the clearance parameter to 0.3 or 0.4mm.

The .3mf file is for the standard 8x1mm tape for passives.
