For completing devices you need:
- 12V 80 mm PC BRUSHLESS fan (80x80x25, or 80x80x10.8)
- glass container with outer diameter 148 mm and min. height 190 mm (I use glass vase from Pepco, SKU 35327801)
- 4x M3 screw (lenght 6-10 mm) + screw tap for creating a thread or threaded inserts M3
- 4x M4 screw (lenght 6-15 mm) + screw tap for creating a thread
- DC power coaxial connector (for low voltages) to the panel; socket; 5.5/2.5 mm (for example GME.cz 806-459) - optional
- glue for plastic and universal glue
- DC voltage source 7,5-12 V (min 500 mA)
Completing the devices:
- print all parts from PLA or PETG; main setup: 3 perimeters, 20 % infill, 0,2 mm layer height
- use Height range modifier for the main body: 1-21 mm, solid layers top and bottom 0, 0 bottom solid layer for the rest of the body; 20 % gyroid infill - this is IMPORTANT for proper air flow from fan (according the pictures)
- use a brim for legs
- glue the handle to the cover
- glue the base on the glass container (optional)
- install the DC power connector to the top-ring (optional)
- make M3 threads in all legs (or use threaded inserts M3 - you have to drill bigger holes in the legs - according to M3 insterts)
- make M4 threads in the main body (for the fan)
- install all legs on the top-ring by M3 screws
- glue legs on the main body (for centering use the cutouts in the main body)
- install fan on the main body by M4 screws (position the fan wire against the connector on the top-ring)
- fix the fan wire on the leg (use the heat shrink tube or cable ties)
- solder the wire to the connector (red wire to the center pin) - optional, or you can use your solution to power the fan
Instruction for using:
- Be careful, acetone is highly flammable
- Work only in well-ventilated areas
- place the ASA model on the main body grid (or you can use hanging eyes on the bottom of the cover)
- pour acetone into the glass container (to the aproxmatelly 4 mm height) - WARNING - the acetone level must be at a sufficient distance below the fan (approx. 5 mm)
- connect power to the fan/connector (or connect the power directly to fan)
- insert the complete with ASA model to the glass container (use the cover)
- wait for the smoothing :) Smoothing time depends on experience - approximately around 30 minutes
- check the smoothing process (acetone level, model smoothing)
- disconnect the power of the wall plug
- carefully remove the ASA model from the glass container
- leave the ASA model on the well-ventilated area for a several hours
- pour the remaining acetone from glass container into the original tin container
- ventilate the glass container and equipment well
The photos of reals device in a head are version zero.
Upgrades in version Evo1 (2024/08):
- thicker walls of the main body
- the cutouts in the main body for legs centering
- higher top-ring
- 4 pieces thread holes for fan mounting (2 holes in version zero)
- bottom hem of the main body
