Strap Handle

Easily add a low profile handle to your projects. This handle operates with a retained strap that can lie flat for storage, but has enough slack to form a comfortable handle when you need it. 

Print the strap handle retainers with a several wall perimeters and a high infill percentage to ensure the handle can support your project. The strap handle retainers are designed to be fixed to your project with two M5 socket head cap screws. 

The strap for this handle can be cut from 3.2mm (1/8") thick plastic, rubber, leather, or any other flexible material following the provided dimensions. A 3D file for the strap has been included if you would like to print the strap from flexible filament. 

When mounting this strap handle to your project:

1. Lay the strap flat to your project in the location you would like to mount it.
2. Position the strap handle retainers in the slots of the strap.
3. Slide the strap handle retainers to the inner side of the slots in the strap. This will provide slack in the strap for it to form a handle.
4. Mark and drill the mounting holes for the M5 bolts.
5. Assemble the handle and carefully verify that the handle can support the weight of your project.
