Newer more betterful version Chisel Router Plane 1/2-inch (12mm) v2 - Hand Tool Boogaloo by JohnMartin | Download free STL model | Printables.com
I went through several iterations of this before I came up with a design that worked. This fits an ½ inch (12mm) bench chisel, which stays really secure. There is a 5/16-18 threaded hole in the back for a hex bolt to use as a strike plate. Sorry world, it's what I had on hand. You'll also need a ¼-inch or 6mm metal rod cut to size (I used brass) for the wedge. Screw the handle screws all the way into the base until they stop, then attach the handles.
Make sure to print the wedge with 100% infill or perimeters to make it solid.
Yes. The handles are quite large because I have big hands. They're super comfortable for me and give really good leverage. Comment below if you'd like a version with smaller handles.
Overall, it works pretty well, and the chisel stays quite secure. Just make sure to really hit that wedge in there.
