I use a safety razor, and my disposal box finally has gotten full. After jumping on Amazon, I was shocked that i'd once be willing to pay $10.00 for such an item.  After jumping on the various 3d print sites, i was again shocked that everything I was finding was boxy and..well, ugly.

It's easy to design an empty box with a slot in it.  I wanted something that captured the stylistic essence of the disposal box I've used in the past. I wanted it to clamp closed and be easy to throw away when it was full. And…I wanted it cheaper.

So I designed one myself!  My box is elegant, and I'm not ashamed to have it in my restroom. The lid uses locking snap fittings--it's not designed to come off once it's on. (Though if you really need to, you can press something stiff through the holes and into the tabs to free it)

And, in mono color, it only costs about a $1 USD to print! Multi-color raises that up a bit, but not by much.

Supports are necessary, but should come off pretty easily and cleanly with most standard settings. That's the price you pay for not having a big, ugly, boxy container.

Print settings

  • Print both pieces “right side up”
    • Box should be open to the sky
    • Lid should have the text facing up.  This is where you'll need the most supports.
  • 15% gyroid infill
  • 2 walls
  • standard supports
    • Bambu Studio “normal” supports
    • 30 degree threshold angle
    • Default style
    • “Build plate only”
    • remove small overhangs: yes

No brim or raft needed, but I keep my build plates pretty clean.
