This is a very simple shell made to hold ryandam's Teensy 4.1 Sleeve Case on the back of the RG35XXSP lid and allow rotation of the Teensy while opening/closing.This is significant when using a short 6" cable like I am. Video demonstrating my setup:
***Please note some important things before you print this:***
This does not look very good if you care about that sort of thing. This was made quickly for function, not form. See included video of it.
I did not do a bunch of testing on this model, so tolerances might need some adjusting for your printer/setup. As such, I have included STEP and F360 files in the zip for you to be able to edit dimensions as you need. I printed this on a MK3S+
I printed this standing on end so that I could avoid supports on the inside, but printing it this way does not look very good aesthetically and does not result in very accurate tolerances. You could easily split the model in half and print two “pancakes” which you then glue or plastic weld together in order to get a better looking part. It also would probably yield more accurate final dimensions for tolerance purposes.
Because of the orientation in which I printed this, I used a reaming tool to widen the “lip” the Teensy rotates against and remove the overhanging plastic that was causing it to not be able to rotate. It took me a good bit of reaming but now it works well enough.
I used very thin walls on this to save weight, so infill percentage doesn't matter at all when printing. (It is plenty strong for normal use with these thin walls, and if it breaks, you can always print another.)
I removed the Fillets from the STEP and 360 files so they wouldn't mess you up in case you wanted to edit dimensions involving them. Just remember to add some 1mm Fillets to the edges if you edit this model, so it goes in your bags easy!
Finally, thank you to ryandam for making a great sleeve case for the Teensy! Part of the reason I made this is so I can keep the Teensy in this great case when the day comes I have a real M8 and want to use this for something else.
This is actually an entirely different model, but it is made to hold ryandam's Teensy 4.1 Sleeve Case on the back of the RG35XXSP lid. It enables the Teensy to be attached back there and rotate with the opening and closing of the lid so as not to stress the USB ports or cable. This is significant when using a short 6" cable like I am.
